Philippines Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Hong Kong SAR passport holders can enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 14 days for tourism - only a valid passport and onward ticket are required.

Guide last updated October 25, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure from the Philippines
  • A confirmed return or onward ticket out of the Philippines within the 14-day visa-free period, which airlines check at check-in in Hong Kong
  • No application form, photo, or biometric submission required in advance - fingerprint and photo capture happens at Philippine immigration on arrival
  • No formally published minimum funds requirement, though officers can ask for proof of sufficient funds in rare cases
  • Travel or health insurance is not mandatory

Visa types

  • No visa category applies for stays of 14 days or less - entry is visa-free under the Philippines' bilateral arrangement with Hong Kong
  • For longer tourist stays, a Tourist Visa (9(a)) can be applied for at the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong before travel, single or multiple entry up to 59 days, fee from approx PHP 1,200 (around USD 21) depending on entries and validity requested

Entry conditions

  • Immigration stamps the passport for 14 days on arrival at any Philippine port of entry
  • Employment is not permitted
  • The 14-day stay can be extended at a Bureau of Immigration office for an initial extension of 29 days (total 43 days) for a fee of approx PHP 3,030 (around USD 54), with further 1- or 2-month extensions available afterward for additional fees

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for the initial 14-day visa-free entry
  • Extension fees: approx PHP 3,030 (~USD 54) for the first extension, processed same-day at a Bureau of Immigration satellite office
  • Further extensions cost roughly PHP 2,000-3,000 (~USD 35-54) per additional period

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Book an onward or return ticket before departure, since Hong Kong-based airlines routinely check this for Philippines-bound passengers under the visa-free rule
  • If an extension is needed, visit a Bureau of Immigration office a few days before the 14-day stamp expires - queues can be long, so arrive early
  • Frequent short visits on the visa-free allowance can occasionally trigger extra immigration questioning; carry proof of the purpose of travel
  • For stays beyond roughly 6 months cumulative, a 9(a) visa obtained in advance from the Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong is simpler than repeated extensions
