Guide last updated October 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host's address)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Completed arrival form, issued on the flight or at the airport
  • No visa, biometrics, or photo required for the visa-free entry

Visa types

  • No visa category applies for the 30-day visa-free tourist/business stay. Travellers wishing to work, study, or stay longer must apply for a visa or residence card (Carte de Sejour) through Morocco's Direction Generale de la Surete Nationale after arrival, or at a Moroccan consulate before travel for certain long-term categories.

Entry conditions

  • Hong Kong SAR passport holders may enter Morocco visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism or business, with no work permitted on this basis. On arrival at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, Marrakech Menara, or another port of entry, present your passport, return ticket, and proof of accommodation. Extensions beyond 30 days are possible but require an in-person application at a local police prefecture (Bureau des Etrangers) before the initial period expires, with justification required.

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee applies for the visa-free 30-day entry. Extensions, where granted, typically involve a modest administrative fee and are processed within a few working days to a couple of weeks at the local prefecture, depending on the city.

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Morocco's 30-day visa-free window is not meant to be reset by simply leaving and re-entering - repeated short exits specifically to reset the clock can draw scrutiny from immigration
  • Carry proof of accommodation and return travel, as it is commonly checked at Moroccan airports, especially Casablanca and Marrakech during peak season
  • If you plan to stay longer, start the Bureau des Etrangers extension process at least two weeks before your 30 days expire
  • Direct flights from Hong Kong are not available; most routings connect via the Gulf or Europe - plan layovers accordingly
  • Keep small-denomination Moroccan dirhams on hand, as cash is widely used outside major hotels and tourist areas
