Jordan Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

Visa on Arrival

Hong Kong SAR passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival at Jordan's international airports; the single-entry tourist visa costs JOD 40 (about USD 56), though it is waived for travellers staying 3 or more nights through the Jordan Pass scheme.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation in Jordan
  • Cash (JOD, USD, or major currencies) or card to pay the visa fee at the airport counter
  • A completed arrival card (often available digitally via gateway2jordan.gov.jo)
  • No biometrics required beyond a standard photograph at the immigration desk
  • Travel insurance is recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • Single-entry tourist visa on arrival - fee JOD 40 (about USD 56), valid for a stay of up to 30 days, extendable at a local police station
  • Double-entry visa - fee JOD 60, for travellers planning to exit and re-enter (e.g. a side trip to Israel/Palestine) within the same visit
  • Multiple-entry visa - fee JOD 120, valid for repeated entries over a set period, typically arranged in advance rather than on arrival
  • Jordan Pass - a prepaid package covering the visa fee (waived for 3+ night stays) plus entry to Petra and other sites, purchased online before travel

Visa on arrival

  • Visa on arrival is available at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman Civil Airport, and other authorised ports of entry
  • Not available at the King Hussein Bridge (Jordan-Israel land crossing) - a visa must be arranged in advance for that route
  • On arrival, proceed to the visa counter before passport control, pay the fee (JOD 40 for single entry), and receive the visa sticker in your passport
  • If you purchased a Jordan Pass in advance and are staying 3 or more nights, present your voucher to have the visa fee waived
  • Queues can be long during peak season; the Jordan Pass QR code line is generally faster

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa on arrival: JOD 40 (about USD 56), paid in cash or by card at the airport
  • Jordan Pass: starts from about JOD 70, which includes the visa fee waiver (for 3+ night stays) plus site entry fees
  • Processing at the airport counter typically takes a few minutes to half an hour depending on queue length
  • No separate express service exists since the visa is issued on the spot

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • If staying 3 nights or more, buy a Jordan Pass online before departure to save the JOD 40 visa fee and get discounted site entry
  • Carry small denominations of JOD or USD cash in case the card terminal at the visa counter is unavailable
  • If you plan to cross into Israel/Palestine and back via the King Hussein Bridge, arrange your visa status in advance rather than relying on the arrival visa
  • Keep your boarding pass and hotel booking handy, as officers occasionally ask about your itinerary
  • Visa extensions, if needed, are handled quickly at local police stations rather than at the border
