Guide last updated September 20, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full duration of your intended stay in Jamaica, with at least 6 months validity strongly recommended
  • Completed Jamaica immigration and customs declaration form, typically distributed on the inbound flight or completed via the online C5 portal before arrival
  • Proof of return or onward travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation such as a hotel booking or the address of the host you're staying with
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for your stay may be requested by immigration officers
  • No visa photo or biometric submission is required in advance; fingerprints and photo may be captured at the immigration kiosk on arrival
  • Travel health insurance is not mandatory but recommended

Visa types

  • No visa category applies — Hong Kong SAR passport holders are granted visa-free entry for tourism, business meetings, or family visits
  • Stays longer than 30 days, study, or employment require a visa or work permit arranged in advance through the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) or a Jamaican consulate

Entry conditions

  • Maximum stay: 30 days per visit for tourism or business purposes
  • Employment or paid work is not permitted under visa-free entry
  • Present your completed immigration declaration, or online C5 submission confirmation, along with your passport at the border
  • Extensions beyond 30 days can be requested in-country through PICA before the initial stay expires, subject to a fee and approval
  • Overstaying without an approved extension can result in fines or future entry difficulties

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee since entry is visa-free
  • The online C5 immigration and customs form, where used, is free to submit
  • In-country extensions through PICA carry a fee, generally in the range of JMD 4,000-8,000 (roughly USD 25-50), though amounts can change
  • No processing time is needed for entry itself; only extension requests take several business days to process

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Complete Jamaica's online C5 immigration and customs form before departure if available for your flight, to speed up arrival processing
  • Carry a printed or digital copy of your return ticket and hotel confirmation for immigration questioning
  • If planning to extend your stay, start the PICA extension process at least a week before your 30 days expire
  • Jamaican immigration officers may ask about the purpose and funding of your trip, so have a clear, consistent itinerary ready
  • Reconfirm any inter-island or connecting flights well in advance, as schedules can change with limited notice
