What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond travel dates with 2 blank pages
  • Completed Ghana visa application form (available at ghana.gov.gh)
  • Two recent passport photos (white background)
  • Invitation letter or hotel confirmation
  • Return/onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement, last 3 months)
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for Ghana entry)
  • Travel health insurance: recommended

Visa types

  • Tourist visa: single entry, up to 60 days, fee approx USD 100
  • Business visa: single/multiple entry, up to 90 days, requires a company invitation letter, fee approx USD 150
  • Multiple-entry visa: up to 12 months validity for frequent travellers, fee approx USD 200

How to apply

  • Ghana has no consulate in Hong Kong, so applicants complete the entire process online at visa.ghana.gov.gh
  • Submit the application form and supporting documents electronically, then pay the fee online by card
  • Upload the yellow fever certificate as part of the application
  • An approval/entry confirmation is emailed before travel; alternatively apply in person at the Ghana High Commission in London or Beijing
  • No in-person interview normally required for tourist applications

  • Business visa fee: approx USD 150 (~HKD 1,170)
