Estonia Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Hong Kong SAR passport holders can enter Estonia, and the wider Schengen Area, visa-free for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period, for tourism or business purposes.

Guide last updated October 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure from the Schengen Area, issued within the last 10 years
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Proof of sufficient funds, generally around EUR 50-100 per day of stay as a guideline
  • Travel health/medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, recommended
  • No application form or biometrics required in advance; ETIAS pre-travel authorization will eventually apply to visa-exempt visitors once fully implemented

Visa types

  • No visa required for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area, covering tourism, business meetings, and short visits
  • Longer stays, work, or study require a national visa or residence permit applied for through the Estonian embassy or consulate before travel

Entry conditions

  • Up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period, visa-free, across the entire Schengen Area, not just Estonia
  • Present passport at the border for an entry stamp; days are tracked against the 90/180 rule
  • Paid employment is not permitted under the visa-free allowance
  • Extensions beyond 90 days are only granted in exceptional circumstances through the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board

Fees & processing time

  • No visa fee for the 90-day visa-free entry
  • No processing time required for entry
  • Once ETIAS becomes mandatory, the authorization fee is expected to be EUR 7, with near-instant to 96-hour processing

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Track cumulative Schengen days across all Schengen countries visited on the same trip, not just Estonia
  • Carry proof of accommodation and return tickets, as these can be checked by airlines and border officers
  • Estonia has no resident embassy in Hong Kong; general visa questions can go through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a regional Schengen consulate
  • Register for updates on ETIAS implementation timelines before booking travel close to the rollout date
  • Keep digital and printed copies of hotel bookings, as border control occasionally requests them for first-time Schengen entrants
