What you need

  • HKSAR passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry
  • Digital passport-style photo for the online application
  • Proof of accommodation or an invitation letter
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Mandatory yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Travel health insurance recommended
  • No in-person biometrics required, though some travelers report biometric capture on arrival at N'Djamena

Visa types

  • e-Visa tourist - single entry, validity up to 90 days, fee approximately USD 160
  • e-Visa business - similar validity, requires an additional invitation/support letter from a Chadian host, fee similar or slightly higher
  • Multiple-entry e-visa - available at a higher fee for frequent business travelers
