Cameroon Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Hong Kong SAR passport holders need an e-visa for Cameroon, applied for online in advance and then finalised with a visa fee payment on arrival at the airport.

Guide last updated October 23, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry
  • Online e-visa application with scanned passport bio page and a recent digital photo
  • Proof of accommodation and travel itinerary, or an invitation letter for business trips
  • Proof of onward/return ticket
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate - mandatory for entry
  • Travel/medical insurance is recommended
  • No biometrics collected in advance; fingerprints are taken on arrival at the airport visa counter

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa - short stay, typically valid for 30 days with up to 90 days total validity for use
  • Business e-visa - similar validity, for conferences or commercial visits, may require an invitation letter from a Cameroonian host organisation
  • Both are single-entry by default; multiple-entry options can be requested through a Cameroonian consulate

How to apply online

  • Submit your application through Cameroon's official e-visa portal, uploading your passport, photo and travel details
  • Pay the online authorisation fee by card (approximately USD 65)
  • Processing typically takes about 72 hours; approval is emailed as a printable authorisation
  • On arrival at Douala or Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport, present the printed approval, passport and yellow fever certificate, and pay the remaining visa stamp fee (approximately USD 90-100) to receive the visa in your passport

Fees & processing time

  • Online e-visa authorisation fee: approximately USD 65, paid by card during application
  • Visa stamp fee paid on arrival: approximately USD 90-100 in cash
  • Combined total cost: roughly USD 155-165
  • Online processing time: approximately 72 hours; the on-arrival stamping itself takes only a few minutes once the pre-approval is shown

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Apply for the e-visa at least a week before departure, since boarding may be denied without the pre-approval, and the process is a two-step authorisation plus on-arrival payment
  • Carry both the printed online approval and sufficient USD cash for the on-arrival fee
  • Keep your yellow fever certificate with your travel documents - it is checked alongside the visa
  • Business travellers should carry a formal invitation letter from their host organisation in Cameroon to support the application
