Bolivia Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Hong Kong SAR passport holders need a visa for Bolivia, obtainable online as a consular e-visa through Bolivia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travel.

Guide last updated October 23, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from entry
  • Completed online e-visa application with scanned passport bio page and a recent digital photo
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Proof of onward/return travel
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Travel/medical insurance covering the trip
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate recommended if arriving from or transiting an endemic area (e.g. parts of Brazil)
  • No biometrics collected in advance; digital photo and documents are reviewed online

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa - single entry, valid for a 30-day initial stay, extendable
  • Business e-visa - single entry, for conferences or commercial meetings, similar validity to the tourist e-visa
  • Multiple-entry visa - available on request for frequent travellers, issued through a Bolivian consulate rather than the standard e-visa portal

How to apply online

  • Apply through Bolivia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-visa portal (rree.gob.bo) or the nearest Bolivian consulate if the online option is unavailable for Hong Kong applicants
  • Upload your passport, photo, travel itinerary, accommodation proof and funds evidence
  • Pay the consular fee online by card (no reciprocity fee currently applies to Hong Kong SAR passport holders)
  • Processing takes approximately 3-5 business days; approval is sent by email as a digital visa linked electronically to your passport number
  • Present your passport and the email confirmation at the port of entry; immigration will verify the e-visa electronically

Fees & processing time

  • Consular/e-visa fee: approximately USD 30-50
  • Standard processing: 3-5 business days
  • No express processing option is generally advertised
  • Extensions of stay (up to a combined 90 days per year) can be obtained at a DIGEMIG migration office in Bolivia for an additional fee

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Apply at least one to two weeks before departure to allow for processing and any follow-up document requests
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of your e-visa approval and passport pages
  • Carry a yellow fever certificate if your itinerary includes the Bolivian Amazon or connects through endemic countries
  • If you need more than the initial 30 days, apply for an extension at a DIGEMIG office in Bolivia before your current permit expires rather than overstaying
