What you need

  • Passport valid for the duration of the stay
  • No visa required for the visa-free allowance
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address)
  • Completed immigration arrival/departure card
  • Proof of sufficient funds (rarely checked)

Visa types

  • No visa required for tourism/business visits up to the standard visa-free allowance
  • Extension of stay: granted by the Barbados Immigration Department, fee approx. USD 50-100 depending on duration requested
  • Work permits require a separate, employer-sponsored application before travel

Entry conditions

  • Standard stay granted on arrival: up to 28 days, at the discretion of the immigration officer (sometimes granted up to a longer period for established travelers)
  • No employment permitted without a separate work permit
  • Present passport, return ticket, arrival card and accommodation details to immigration on arrival

  • No pre-arrival processing time since no visa is required

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Carry proof of onward travel and accommodation, since the immigration officer decides the exact length of stay granted on arrival
  • Apply for any extension before your current permitted stay expires to avoid overstay penalties
  • Business visitors attending meetings only generally do not need anything beyond the standard visa-free entry
  • Keep your arrival card stub if issued, as it may be requested on departure
  • Confirm current entry requirements shortly before travel, as Caribbean nations periodically adjust visa-free allowances
