Azerbaijan Visa for Hong Kong Citizens 2026

Visa Free

HKSAR passport holders can currently enter Azerbaijan visa-free for short stays of up to 30 days for tourism; longer or other-purpose visits still require an e-visa via the ASAN Visa portal.

Guide last updated October 23, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry
  • No visa required for the visa-free tourist allowance
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of accommodation
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Travel insurance recommended for the duration of the trip

Visa types

  • No visa required for short tourist visits up to 30 days under the current arrangement
  • e-Visa (ASAN Visa, via evisa.gov.az): required for business travel, longer stays, or other purposes outside the visa-free tourist allowance, single entry, fee approx. USD 20-25, processed in 3 working days (or faster for a higher fee)
  • Ordinary sticker visa: available at Azerbaijani consulates for cases not covered by e-visa or visa-free entry

Entry conditions

  • Maximum stay: 30 days under the visa-free tourist allowance
  • No work permitted under visa-free entry
  • Present passport and return ticket at border control on arrival; an entry stamp or digital record is issued
  • If your purpose of travel is business rather than tourism, apply for the ASAN e-visa in advance rather than relying on visa-free entry
  • No extension available for the visa-free allowance; a separate visa is needed for a longer stay

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for the 30-day visa-free tourist entry
  • ASAN e-visa (if needed for business/longer stays): approx. USD 20-25, processed in around 3 working days, with an expedited option for an extra fee
  • No in-person interview required for the e-visa route

Tips for Hong Kong travelers

  • Confirm your exact purpose of travel matches the visa-free tourist category before relying on it - business activity may require the ASAN e-visa instead
  • Apply for the e-visa a few days ahead if your trip is business-related, since instant approval is not guaranteed
  • Keep your entry stamp/record, as it may be checked on departure
  • Carry proof of accommodation and a return ticket for standard border checks
  • Reconfirm current visa-free terms before travel, as Azerbaijan's visa policy for various nationalities has changed over time
