What you need

  • Passport valid for the full duration of the intended stay

  • Proof of pre-arranged accommodation (hotel booking, Airbnb, or host details) - mandatory, checked at check-in and immigration
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • Travel/health insurance covering the trip
  • No biometrics required for the Visitor's Permit
  • Completed online arrival registration/health declaration prior to arrival

Visa types

  • Visitor's Permit: issued free of charge on arrival, typically granted for up to 90 days depending on the immigration officer's assessment, single entry, for tourism and short business trips
  • Extended Visitor's Permit: the initial permit can be extended locally at the Immigration Division in Victoria, in increments, up to a combined maximum stay of 1 year
  • Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP): required separately for any paid work undertaken in Seychelles, applied for by the employer

Entry conditions

  • German citizens receive a free Visitor's Permit stamped in the passport on arrival, allowing a stay of up to 90 days without a prior visa application
  • Paid employment is not covered by the Visitor's Permit; a Gainful Occupation Permit is required for any work
  • Immigration officers may ask to see proof of accommodation and return tickets before granting the full 90 days; shorter initial grants can occur if documentation is incomplete
  • The Visitor's Permit can be extended at the Immigration Division (Victoria, Mahe) before it expires, for an additional fee, up to a combined total stay of 1 year

  • Extension of Visitor's Permit: approx. SCR 500-1,000 (~USD 35-70) per extension, processed at the Immigration Division
  • No VFS/BLS outsourcing; all processing is done directly with Seychelles Immigration

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Book accommodation before departure and carry the booking confirmation, as it is checked at both airline check-in and immigration
  • Request the full 90 days at the immigration desk if you plan to extend your stay; officers sometimes grant shorter periods by default
  • Apply for any extension at least a few days before your current permit expires to avoid a gap
  • Seychelles can be expensive; have proof of funds or a credit card ready in case it's requested
  • Keep copies of your Visitor's Permit stamp, as it is required when applying for any extension
