What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival, with at least one blank page
  • Scanned passport bio page and a recent passport-style photo (white background)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) and a return flight ticket
  • Invitation letter for business travelers, or a tourism itinerary for tourists
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry)
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo captured on arrival at Nigerian airports

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa: single entry, valid 30 days, extendable once inside Nigeria
  • Business e-visa: single or multiple entry, 30-90 days validity
  • Visa on arrival: for pre-approved travelers with strong business ties, arranged in advance with the Nigeria Immigration Service

How to apply online

  • Apply at portal.immigration.gov.ng, create an account, and complete the online application form
  • Upload the passport bio page, photo, yellow fever certificate, and supporting documents
  • Pay the e-visa fee online by card
  • Processing typically takes around 5 business days; an approval letter arrives by email
  • Print the approval letter and present it with your passport on arrival, where the visa is stamped in
