Namibia Visa for Germany Citizens 2026

Visa on Arrival

German citizens can obtain a visa on arrival in Namibia for tourism, issued at the port of entry upon presenting the required documents.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed arrival visa application form (available at the port of entry)
  • Passport-size photo (2 copies, passport-standard, white background)
  • Proof of onward/return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Sufficient funds for the stay (cash or card statement)
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo taken at immigration on arrival
  • Travel health insurance: recommended, not mandatory

Visa types

  • Tourist visa on arrival - single entry, up to 90 days, issued at Hosea Kutako International Airport or major land borders
  • Business visa on arrival - single entry, up to 90 days, requires an invitation letter from a Namibian host/company
  • Multiple-entry visa - must be applied for in advance at the Namibian Embassy in Berlin, not available on arrival

  • Available at Hosea Kutako International Airport (Windhoek) and major border posts
  • Present passport, completed form, photo, and proof of accommodation/onward travel at the immigration counter
  • Pay the visa fee in cash (NAD or major foreign currency) or by card where available
  • Processing takes 15-30 minutes at the airport counter during normal hours
  • Queues can be longer at land borders; arrive with time to spare

  • Visa on arrival fee: approx NAD 1,200 (approx USD 65) for a single-entry tourist visa
  • Business visa on arrival: similar fee range, approx NAD 1,200-1,800
  • No separate service/agency fee at the airport
  • Total processing time on arrival: typically under 30 minutes

Tips for Germany travelers

  • Bring exact or small denominations of cash, as change may not always be available at border posts
  • Common rejection reason: missing proof of accommodation or return ticket
  • Arrive at land borders during daytime hours, as visa-on-arrival processing may not run 24/7
  • Keep the visa/entry stamp visible in your passport for exit control checks
  • No current bilateral travel advisories between Germany and Namibia
