  • Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank pages
  • Digital passport-style photo for the online application

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) or invitation letter
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from a country with risk of transmission
  • No biometrics required for the e-visa itself; fingerprints may be taken on arrival at Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport
  • Travel health insurance recommended

  • Tourist e-visa: single entry, valid for use within 90 days of issue, maximum stay 30 days, fee approx. €120
  • Business e-visa: single or multiple entry, maximum stay 30-90 days, fee approx. €150-€180
  • Visa on arrival (alternative route): available at Nouakchott airport for approx. $120 USD cash, same document requirements

How to apply online

  • Pay the visa fee online by credit card (fee quoted in both local currency and USD)
  • Processing typically takes 3-5 working days; approval is sent by email as a PDF to print and present on arrival
  • Present the printed e-visa approval, passport, and return ticket at the port of entry
