What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Malian visa application form
  • Two passport-sized photos (white background)
  • Proof of onward/return travel
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate: mandatory
  • Biometrics: fingerprints may be taken at the embassy or on arrival
  • Travel health insurance: recommended

Visa types

  • Tourist visa: single entry, valid up to 90 days from issue, stay up to 30 days
  • Business visa: requires an invitation letter from a Malian company or organization, similar validity
  • Multiple-entry visa: available for frequent travelers with sponsor documentation, valid up to 1 year

How to apply

  • Apply in person or by mail through the Malian embassy/consulate responsible for Germany, or a neighboring country's mission where Mali has no direct representation
  • Submit the application form, photos, passport, yellow fever certificate, and supporting documents (invitation letter, hotel booking, bank statement)
  • Pay the visa fee by bank transfer or in cash at the consulate as instructed
  • Standard processing takes 5-10 working days; an interview is not typically required
  • The approved visa is stamped directly into the passport

  • No separate VFS/BLS fee - applications go directly through the embassy or consulate

Tips for Germany travelers
