  • Travel health insurance is not mandatory but an EHIC or German public insurance is recommended

  • No routine border checks since both countries are within the Schengen Area, though random spot checks can occur

Visa types

  • No visa exists for Germans, since they travel under EU/Schengen free movement. For long-term stays:
  • Temporary Residence Registration - required for stays over 90 days for work, study, or family reasons, registered with the Foreign Police (Cizinecká policie)
  • No separate work permit is needed, as EU citizens can work freely in the Czech Republic

Entry conditions
