Zimbabwe Visa for France Citizens 2026

Visa on Arrival

French citizens can obtain a visa on arrival at Zimbabwean ports of entry, or apply for an eVisa in advance at evisa.gov.zw; single-entry tourist visas cost around USD 30-75 depending on entry count.

Guide last updated September 24, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry with at least 2 blank pages
  • No separate visa application form needed for visa-on-arrival (arrival card is completed instead)
  • Proof of sufficient funds for your stay
  • Proof of accommodation and a return/onward ticket
  • Passport-style photo not required on arrival, but recommended if applying via the eVisa portal
  • Biometrics (fingerprints and photo) are captured on arrival by immigration officers
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • Single Entry Tourist/Business visa: valid for stays up to 30-90 days, fee USD 30 (single entry)
  • Double Entry visa: fee USD 45, allows two separate entries within the visa validity
  • KAZA UniVisa: USD 50, covers Zimbabwe and Zambia plus day trips to Botswana, ideal for Victoria Falls trips
  • Multiple Entry visa (issued in advance via embassy, not on arrival): USD 75-100

Visa on arrival

  • Available at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport (Harare), Victoria Falls Airport, and major land borders (e.g. Beitbridge, Kazungula)
  • Steps: complete the arrival/visa form on the plane or at the counter, present passport and payment, get photographed and fingerprinted
  • Fees are payable in cash USD (small denominations recommended) or by card where available; exact change speeds up processing
  • Processing at the counter typically takes 10-30 minutes depending on queue length
  • Applying online in advance via evisa.gov.zw (processing 2-5 business days) lets you skip the payment queue on arrival

Fees & processing time

  • Single entry: USD 30 (~EUR 28)
  • Double entry: USD 45 (~EUR 41)
  • KAZA UniVisa: USD 50 (~EUR 46)
  • eVisa processing (online, in advance): 2-5 working days
  • On-arrival processing: 10-30 minutes per traveler depending on airport/border congestion
  • No separate service fee for on-arrival visas; the eVisa portal charges the same visa fee plus a small online processing fee

Tips for France travelers

  • Pre-apply via the eVisa portal (evisa.gov.zw) before peak season (June-September) to avoid long arrival queues
  • Bring exact USD cash as change is not always available at land borders
  • If combining Zimbabwe with Zambia or Botswana, the KAZA UniVisa saves money and time over separate visas
  • Keep your visa receipt/arrival stamp until departure, as it may be checked when exiting
  • Overstaying attracts fines and possible entry bans on future visits
