Seychelles Visa for France Citizens 2026

Visa Free

French citizens do not need a paid visa for Seychelles but must obtain a free Tourist Visitor's Permit before or on arrival, granted for up to 90 days via the immigration website or the airport.

Guide last updated September 23, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full intended stay
  • Confirmed pre-paid accommodation booking (required for the Visitor's Permit application)
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay (bank statement or equivalent)
  • Return or onward ticket
  • No fee or photo required for the standard Visitor's Permit
  • Travel and medical insurance covering the stay is required

Visa types

  • Tourist Visitor's Permit: free, valid for stays up to 90 days and extendable, issued electronically via the Seychelles Immigration website (ics.gov.sc) or on arrival at Seychelles International Airport
  • Business Visitor's Permit: same process, requires an invitation letter from the host business in Seychelles
  • No paid visa category exists — the Visitor's Permit is Seychelles' universal entry authorization for all nationalities

Entry conditions

  • Up to 90 days per visit for tourism or business, extendable in-country at the Immigration Division in Victoria
  • No paid work permitted without a separate Gainful Occupation Permit
  • On arrival, present passport, accommodation confirmation, return ticket and proof of funds to immigration; the Visitor's Permit is stamped in the passport at that point
  • Extensions up to a total of 12 months can be granted in increments at the Immigration Division

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for the Tourist Visitor's Permit itself
  • No service fee — apply directly via ics.gov.sc or at the airport
  • Total cost: free, apart from standard airport taxes
  • Online application processing: typically same day to 48 hours before travel
  • On-arrival issuance: a few minutes at the immigration counter

Tips for France travelers

  • Apply online a few days before departure to speed up arrival processing
  • Common rejection reason: no confirmed accommodation booking listed on the application
  • Carry a printed copy of the accommodation confirmation and return ticket, since immigration officers check these on arrival
  • Request extensions at least a few days before the current permit expires
  • No current bilateral travel restrictions between France and Seychelles
