What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • A digital passport-style photo for the online application
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate — mandatory for entry to Guinea
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host invitation) for the application
  • Proof of onward or return travel
  • A valid email address to receive the e-Visa approval
  • No biometrics required for the online application; fingerprints may be taken on arrival

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid 90 days from issue for a stay of up to 30 days, fee approx 80 US dollars
  • Business e-Visa: single or multiple entry, requires an invitation letter from a Guinean company, fee approx 90 to 120 US dollars
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa: for frequent business travelers, higher fee and longer validity

How to apply online

  • Apply through Guinea's official e-Visa portal, uploading your passport bio page, photo, and supporting documents
  • Pay the fee online by credit or debit card in US dollars
  • Standard processing: 3 to 5 business days
  • Express processing, where available, takes 24 to 48 hours for an extra fee
  • The approved e-Visa is sent by email as a PDF — print it and present it with your passport on arrival at Conakry airport

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa: approx 80 US dollars
  • Business e-Visa: approx 90 to 120 US dollars
  • No separate service fee beyond the portal's processing charge
  • Standard processing: 3 to 5 business days
  • Express processing: 24 to 48 hours for an additional fee of around 30 to 40 US dollars
  • Total estimated cost: 80 to 160 US dollars depending on visa type and speed

Tips for France travelers

  • Apply at least 1 to 2 weeks before departure to allow for processing and any follow-up document requests
  • Get the yellow fever vaccination at least 10 days before travel — it is checked on arrival and entry can be refused without it
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry passport scans, mismatched names between application and passport, missing proof of accommodation
  • Print a physical copy of your e-Visa approval; relying on a phone screen can cause delays at immigration
  • Extensions inside Guinea are handled by the Direction Generale de la Police des Frontieres in Conakry
