Gabon Visa for France Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

French citizens must obtain a Gabon e-Visa online before travel through evisa.dgdi.ga — apply in advance, pay the fee, and receive approval to present on arrival.

Guide last updated September 22, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed online e-Visa application at evisa.dgdi.ga with a scanned passport bio page
  • Digital passport-style photo (recent, plain background)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter) uploaded with the application
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate — required for entry into Gabon
  • Biometrics: fingerprints and photo typically captured on arrival at Libreville Léon-Mba International Airport
  • Travel health insurance: recommended for medical evacuation coverage

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid for a stay of up to 30 days
  • Business e-Visa: requires an invitation letter from a Gabonese company or organization, similar validity to tourist
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa: available for frequent travelers at a higher fee, valid for a longer period (commonly up to 90 days or 1 year depending on the category selected)
  • Work/Residence Visa: requires employer sponsorship, processed through the Embassy rather than the e-Visa portal

How to apply online

  • Apply at evisa.dgdi.ga, the official Gabonese e-Visa portal
  • Steps: create an account, complete the application form with personal and travel details, upload passport scan, photo, accommodation proof and yellow fever certificate, then pay online by card
  • Fee: approximately USD 95–105 for a single-entry tourist e-Visa (fees are typically listed in EUR or USD equivalent on the portal, roughly EUR 85–95)
  • Processing time: typically 48–72 hours for straightforward applications, though it can take longer during busy periods
  • Approval arrives as a PDF e-Visa authorization sent by email — print it and carry it with your passport for boarding and arrival control

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee: approximately USD 95–105 for single entry
  • No separate VFS/BLS service fee — the e-Visa system is government-run through evisa.dgdi.ga
  • Total estimated cost: USD 95–105 plus any card foreign transaction fee
  • Standard processing: 48–72 hours
  • No official express option is advertised; apply at least a week ahead to allow margin for delays

Tips for France travelers

  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel even though processing is often quick, since occasional portal issues can cause delays
  • Ensure your yellow fever certificate details exactly match your passport to avoid rejection at boarding or arrival
  • Keep a printed copy of your e-Visa approval, as some airline check-in staff request a hard copy in addition to the digital version
  • The French Embassy in Libreville can assist with passport emergencies, though it does not process Gabonese visas
  • Direct flights from Paris to Libreville operate several times weekly with Air France, making Gabon one of the more accessible Central African destinations for French travelers
