Equatorial Guinea Visa for France Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

French citizens need an Equatorial Guinea e-Visa obtained online before travel, as the country does not offer visa-free entry or visas on arrival to most nationalities.

Guide last updated October 26, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond stay
  • Digital passport photo
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory)
  • Invitation letter or hotel confirmation
  • Return ticket
  • Completed online application with card payment

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa (single entry, up to 30 days). Business e-Visa (requires an invitation letter from a local sponsor or company). Both processed via the same government e-visa platform.

How to apply online

  • Apply through the official Equatorial Guinea e-Visa portal. Register an account, upload your passport, photo, yellow fever certificate, and invitation/hotel proof, then pay online - approximately USD 100-150 depending on visa type. Standard processing takes 5-10 business days; an express option may be available for roughly USD 50 extra with 48-72 hour turnaround where offered. Approval is emailed as a printable PDF to present with your passport on arrival at Malabo or Bata airport.

Fees & processing time

  • e-Visa fee roughly USD 100-150; standard processing 5-10 business days, express option (where available) around 48-72 hours for an added fee.

Tips for France travelers

  • Apply 3-4 weeks ahead of travel since processing can be slow
  • Secure your yellow fever certificate ahead of time, as it is strictly checked
  • Confirm your invitation letter or hotel booking comes from a recognized sponsor, since applications without one are often rejected
  • Carry printed copies of all documents, as local internet access can be unreliable
