Angola Visa for France Citizens 2026

Visa Free

French citizens can enter Angola visa-free for up to 30 days but must complete online pre-travel registration via Angola's SIME portal before departure.

Guide last updated September 22, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from date of entry, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Pre-travel online registration via Angola's SIME migration portal (sime.mint.gov.ao) is required before arrival, even though no visa is issued
  • Proof of onward/return travel
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry into Angola)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel reservation or invitation letter)
  • Travel health insurance recommended

Visa types

  • Visa-free tourism/business entry: up to 30 days per stay, no fee, requires SIME pre-registration only
  • For stays beyond 30 days or for work/study, a standard visa obtained through the Angolan Embassy in Paris is required before travel

Entry conditions

  • Stay is limited to 30 days visa-free; extensions require applying at Angola's migration service (SME) before the 30 days expire
  • Employment is not permitted under the visa-free entry
  • Present your passport, SIME registration confirmation, yellow fever certificate, and proof of accommodation at the border
  • Multiple visa-free entries are allowed but cumulative stays are monitored by immigration

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for the visa-free 30-day entry itself
  • SIME online pre-registration: free, processed within 24-72 hours before travel
  • Standard visa (if needed for longer stays): approx EUR 70-140 depending on type, processed in 5-10 working days at the embassy
  • No express service commonly available

Tips for France travelers

  • Complete SIME registration at least 3-5 days before departure - arriving without it is a common reason for denied boarding
  • Carry a printed yellow fever certificate; entry can be refused without it
  • Book accommodation in advance, since proof of a confirmed reservation is sometimes requested at the border
  • Extensions in-country are handled by the Servico de Migracao e Estrangeiros (SME) in Luanda and can take several days
  • Keep copies of your passport and SIME confirmation separate from the originals while traveling
