Guide last updated October 18, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid 6+ months
  • Completed online application via ttconnect.gov.tt
  • Passport-size photo, white background
  • Confirmed return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • Biometrics: fingerprints taken at the handling mission or on arrival
  • Travel and medical insurance: recommended

Visa types

  • Single-entry visitor visa - up to 90 days, fee about USD 40
  • Multiple-entry visa - validity up to 5 years, each stay up to 90 days, fee about USD 80
  • Transit visa - up to 72 hours, fee about USD 20

How to apply

  • Complete the application on ttconnect.gov.tt, upload supporting documents, and submit them to the Trinidad and Tobago diplomatic mission handling Egypt (commonly a regional high commission, since there is no post in Cairo) by post or courier. Pay the fee by bank draft or card as instructed. Standard processing is 2-3 weeks, and the approved visa is affixed as a sticker or stamp, sometimes requiring the passport to be sent abroad physically.

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry visa: about USD 40
  • Multiple-entry visa: about USD 80
  • No additional VFS fee - there is no outsourced visa center for Egypt
  • Total cost: about USD 40-45 plus courier charges
  • Standard processing: 2-3 weeks; no official express service

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply at least a month ahead since the handling mission is not in Egypt, adding courier time. Common rejection reasons are unclear purpose of visit and insufficient funds documentation. Track the passport by registered courier whenever it must be sent abroad for stamping. Extensions of stay are granted by the Immigration Division in Port of Spain.
