Israel Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

e-Visa / eTA

Egyptian citizens generally need to apply in advance for Israeli entry clearance through Israel's online visa system before traveling.

Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the planned date of entry
  • Completed online visa application through Israel's visa portal linked from gov.il
  • Digital passport-style photo uploaded with the application
  • Proof of accommodation and a return/onward ticket
  • Proof of funds for the duration of stay
  • Biometrics not collected online but may be requested at the border or nearest Israeli mission
  • Travel insurance recommended but not mandatory

Visa types

  • B/2 Tourist visa: processed online, typically single entry, valid for stays up to 90 days
  • B/1 Business visa: similar online process, requires an invitation or business justification
  • The separate Sinai-only visa-free arrangement at the Taba/Eilat crossing is intended for third-country tourists and does not apply to Egyptian citizens

How to apply online

  • Submit the application through the official visa portal linked from gov.il, entering passport and travel details
  • Upload the required photo and scanned supporting documents
  • Pay any applicable processing fee online, where charged
  • Approval, where granted, is issued electronically or communicated via the handling consular section; some applicants may be asked to attend an interview

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: generally in the range of USD 20-30 equivalent where a fee applies; some categories are fee-exempt
  • No separate third-party service center fee for the online portion
  • Processing time: typically 5-10 working days, extending to several weeks if an interview or additional review is required
  • No formal expedited service is advertised for this route

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply well ahead of travel given unpredictable processing times and possible interview requirements
  • Carry printed confirmation of any approval alongside your passport, as border officials will want to see it
  • Given the sensitivity of Egypt-Israel border crossings, confirm current entry requirements with the Israeli embassy in Cairo before traveling
  • An Israeli entry stamp or visa may affect future travel to certain other countries; ask about a separate loose entry slip if concerned
  • Register your itinerary with Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs travel advisory service given the sensitivity of the border region
