Indonesia Visa for Egypt Citizens 2026

Visa on Arrival

Egyptian citizens can obtain a Visa on Arrival for Indonesia, payable at the airport or pre-purchased online as an e-VOA.

Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival, with at least one blank page
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
  • Sufficient funds for the stay (not usually checked unless suspicion arises)
  • No photo required at the airport counter; a digital photo is requested for the e-VOA application
  • No biometrics at the VOA counter
  • Travel insurance not mandatory but recommended

Visa types

  • Visa on Arrival (social/tourist, B1): valid 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days at a local immigration office, single entry
  • e-VOA: the same visa purchased online in advance via molina.imigrasi.go.id for faster airport processing
  • Longer stays, business or work require a separate visa applied for in advance through the Indonesian embassy

Visa on arrival

  • At major airports (Soekarno-Hatta Jakarta, Ngurah Rai Bali, and others), proceed to the VOA counter before immigration, pay the fee, and receive the visa sticker/stamp
  • Alternatively, apply for the e-VOA online 2-7 days before travel, pay by card, and show the QR code confirmation on arrival for an expedited lane
  • Immigration staff may ask to see the return ticket and hotel booking

Fees & processing time

  • VOA fee: IDR 500,000 (approx. USD 32-35), payable in Rupiah, US Dollars, or by card at most airports
  • e-VOA: same fee, paid online by credit/debit card
  • Processing: VOA is issued on the spot at the airport; e-VOA approval typically arrives within minutes to a few hours
  • Extension of the VOA (another 30 days) costs around IDR 500,000-650,000 and takes about 3-7 working days at a local immigration office

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Pre-purchasing the e-VOA saves time in the arrival queue, especially at busy airports like Bali
  • Keep small USD or IDR cash on hand in case the card payment terminal is down
  • If staying longer than 60 days total, apply for the extension well before the first 30-day period expires
  • The VOA does not permit any paid work; a separate work visa (KITAS) and sponsor are required for employment
  • Check that your passport has enough blank pages, as some officers are strict about this
