Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.
  • No paper form - the e-Visa application is submitted entirely online.
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket.
  • Hotel booking or host address in Guyana.
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement) for your trip.
  • Digital passport-style photo uploaded as part of the online application.
  • No biometrics collected online; standard checks and stamping occur on arrival at Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
  • Travel health insurance is recommended, and a yellow fever certificate may be required if arriving from an endemic country.

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid for a stay of up to 30-90 days, fee approx. $25-50 USD.
  • Business e-Visa: requires an invitation letter from a Guyanese company, similar fee range.
  • Transit e-Visa: for short layovers, lower fee, limited validity.

How to apply online

  • Visit the official Guyana e-visa application portal and select the correct visa category.
  • Fill in your personal, passport, and travel details, and upload a scanned passport page and digital photo.
  • Pay the fee online using a debit or credit card.
  • You will receive the decision by email, generally within 3-5 business days; print the e-Visa approval to carry with your passport.
  • Present the printed approval and passport at check-in and again on arrival in Guyana.
  • Apply at least 7-10 days before travel to allow time for processing.

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa fee: approx. $25-50 USD, paid online by card.
  • Business e-Visa fee: similar or slightly higher range.
  • No separate service fee when applying directly through the official government portal.
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 business days.
  • No official express service; apply early, especially during peak travel periods.

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply directly through the official Guyanese government e-visa channel to avoid overpaying through third-party agent sites.
  • Common rejection reasons: unclear passport scans, mismatched names, and incomplete travel detail fields.
  • Apply at least a week to 10 days before travel to leave room for any processing delays.
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of your approved e-Visa for airline check-in and border control.
  • If you need a longer stay, check whether an extension can be requested locally with the Guyana immigration authorities before your e-Visa period expires.
