Guide last updated October 17, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.
  • No paper form - the application is completed fully online at evisa.gov.ge.
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket.
  • Hotel booking or host address in Georgia.
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement) for the trip duration.
  • Digital passport-style photo uploaded as part of the online application.
  • No biometrics taken beforehand; standard passport check and stamping occur on arrival.
  • Travel health insurance is recommended though not strictly mandatory for short tourist stays.

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa, single entry: valid for a stay of up to 30 days, fee approx. $20 USD.
  • Tourist e-Visa, multiple entry: valid up to 90 days within a 180-day period, fee approx. $20-40 USD.
  • Business e-Visa: requires an invitation letter from a Georgian company, similar fee range and processing time.

How to apply online

  • Go to evisa.gov.ge and start a new application, selecting the correct visa type.
  • Fill in your personal, passport, and travel details and upload a scanned passport page and digital photo.
  • Pay the fee online using a debit or credit card.
  • You will receive the e-Visa decision by email, usually within 3-10 business days; print the approval document to carry with your passport.
  • Present the printed e-Visa and passport at check-in and on arrival at a Georgian port of entry.
  • Apply at least 10 days before travel to allow for processing time.

Fees & processing time

  • Single-entry tourist e-Visa fee: approx. $20 USD.
  • Multiple-entry e-Visa fee: approx. $20-40 USD depending on validity period.
  • No additional service fee - the online portal fee covers the full cost.
  • Standard processing time: 3-10 business days.
  • No official express service is advertised; apply well ahead of travel to avoid delays.

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply directly through the official evisa.gov.ge site to avoid overpaying on third-party visa agent websites.
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry passport scans, name mismatches, and incomplete travel detail fields.
  • Apply at least 10 days in advance since processing can occasionally take longer than the minimum stated time.
  • Keep both a digital and printed copy of your approved e-Visa for airline check-in and border control.
  • If you need a longer stay, consider applying for the 90-day multiple-entry e-Visa instead of the 30-day single-entry option from the outset.
