What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival
  • Digital passport photo (recent, white background)
  • Scanned copy of passport bio-data page
  • Confirmed return/onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation or invitation letter from a host in Cameroon
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory)
  • Valid card for online fee payment

Visa types

  • Short-stay e-Visa: single entry, valid for up to 90 days with stay limited to 90 days, covers tourism, business, and family visits
  • Multiple-entry visa: available for frequent travelers, typically applied through a Cameroonian diplomatic mission rather than the e-Visa portal
  • Transit visa: for short layovers, reduced documentation

How to apply online

  • Apply through Cameroon's official e-Visa portal, linked from government immigration services
  • Create an account, complete the online form, and upload required documents including the yellow fever certificate
  • Pay the visa fee online by card
  • Receive the e-Visa approval by email as a printable document
  • Present the printed e-Visa, passport, and yellow fever certificate on arrival in Douala or Yaounde

Fees & processing time

  • E-Visa fee: approximately USD 80-90 depending on nationality and processing option
  • Standard processing time: around 72 hours
  • No guaranteed express service; apply with buffer time ahead of travel
  • Fee is non-refundable if the application is rejected

Tips for Egypt travelers

  • Apply at least 1-2 weeks before departure to absorb any processing delays
  • Common rejection reasons: missing yellow fever certificate upload, unclear passport scan
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of the e-Visa approval
  • Double check entry point eligibility, as some e-Visas are restricted to specific airports
