Morocco Visa for Canada Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Canadian citizens can enter Morocco visa-free for tourism or business stays of up to 90 days.

Guide last updated September 30, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Valid Canadian passport with at least 6 months' validity remaining
  • No visa required for stays up to 90 days
  • Completed arrival/disembarkation card (usually provided on the plane or at the port of entry)
  • Return or onward travel ticket
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or host address)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds for your stay
  • Travel health insurance is recommended but not mandatory
  • No biometrics required for visa-free entry, though photo/fingerprint capture has been piloted for all arrivals at some airports (e.g. Casablanca)

Visa types

  • Canadian tourists and business visitors need no visa for up to 90 days. For other purposes:
  • Long-stay visa (visa de long sejour): for stays beyond 90 days, work, or study, issued by a Moroccan consulate
  • Carte de sejour (residence card): required for anyone remaining in Morocco past 90 days, applied for at a local police prefecture
  • Business/investor authorizations: handled separately through Morocco's investment authorities for company setup
  • Most Canadian visitors will not need these.

Entry conditions

  • Stay is capped at 90 days within a single visit; there is no rolling 180-day rule as in the Schengen zone
  • Employment is not permitted under visa-free entry
  • Present your passport and completed arrival card at the port of entry (airport, port, or land border with Ceuta/Melilla)
  • To extend beyond 90 days, apply for a carte de sejour at a local police prefecture before the 90 days expire
  • Overstays can result in fines and difficulties on future entry

Fees & processing time

  • No fee for visa-free entry
  • A carte de sejour application costs roughly MAD 100-200 (~USD 10-20) in administrative fees, though document preparation (translations, insurance) adds cost
  • Residence card processing typically takes 4-8 weeks
  • No visa fee applies for tourist or business stays under 90 days

Tips for Canada travelers

  • The Canadian Embassy is located in Rabat and can assist with emergencies or document issues
  • Keep photocopies of your passport separate from the original — hotels commonly request to photocopy ID on check-in
  • Bargaining is customary in markets (souks); this doesn't affect visa matters but is useful for cost planning
  • Ramadan dates affect business hours and some tourist services — check the calendar before planning a trip
  • If travelling onward to remote border regions, check current Global Affairs Canada travel advisories
