Jamaica Visa for Canada Citizens 2026

Visa Free

Canadian citizens can visit Jamaica visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism or business; a passport and return/onward ticket are all that's needed.

Guide last updated September 29, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid for the full duration of your stay in Jamaica
  • No visa or entry form filed in advance — an immigration/customs (C5) card is completed on the plane or at arrival
  • Proof of onward or return travel (airlines may check before boarding)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or address of host)
  • Sufficient funds for the length of stay
  • No biometrics collected on arrival
  • Travel health insurance not mandatory but strongly recommended

Visa types

  • No visa category applies for short tourist or business stays — Canadians are admitted as visa-exempt visitors.
  • Visitor stamp: issued free at the port of entry, valid up to 90 days, single or multiple entries within that period
  • Longer stays, work, or study require a separate application to Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) before travel

Entry conditions

  • Stay permitted: up to 90 days per visit for tourism or business
  • Employment is not permitted on the visitor stamp
  • On arrival, immigration officers may ask to see your return ticket, accommodation details, and evidence of funds
  • Extensions beyond 90 days can be requested from PICA (pica.gov.jm) in Kingston before the stamped period expires, subject to a fee and supporting documents

Fees & processing time

  • Visa fee: none — entry is free for Canadian passport holders
  • No VFS/BLS service fee applies since no visa is required
  • Total cost: JMD 0 (only the Jamaica departure/airport tax, usually bundled into the airfare)
  • Processing time: immediate on arrival
  • Extension fee (if needed): approximately JMD 4,000–8,000, processed by PICA in a few business days

Tips for Canada travelers

  • Carry a printed or digital copy of your return flight and hotel confirmation — officers occasionally ask for both
  • Passports with under a few months of validity have occasionally caused boarding delays with airlines; renewing before travel avoids issues
  • No embassy or VFS visit is needed for tourism — do not pay any third-party site claiming to sell a Jamaica tourist visa
  • If planning to stay past 90 days, start the PICA extension request at least a week before your stamp expires
  • Check Canada's travel advisory for Jamaica before departure, as it flags specific high-crime areas to avoid
