What you need

  • Visa Application Form: Completed accurately and truthfully. This will be part of the online e-Visa application.

  • Accommodation Proof: Confirmed hotel bookings or a letter of invitation from a host in Suriname.
  • Return Ticket: A confirmed return or onward ticket out of Suriname.
  • Photographs: Two (2) recent passport-sized photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) with a white background. Face should be clearly visible, without headwear unless for religious reasons.

  • Standard Processing Time: Approximately 10-15 working days from the date of appointment and submission of complete documentation.

Tips for Angola Travelers

  • Apply in advance: It is recommended to apply for your visa at least 4-6 weeks before your planned travel date to account for potential delays.
  • Common Rejection Reasons: Incomplete application, insufficient financial proof, unclear purpose of visit, invalid passport, or missing supporting documents. Ensure all uploaded documents are clear and legible.
  • VFS Global vs. Direct Embassy Application: For most tourist and short-term business visas, the e-Visa via VFS Global is the primary and recommended route. Direct applications to the embassy are usually for longer-term visas or exceptional cases.
  • Bilateral Notes: Angola and Suriname do not have specific visa waiver agreements. Angola citizens are considered visa-required nationals for Suriname.
  • Extension Options: Visa extensions within Suriname are possible but require applying to the Immigration Department in Paramaribo before your current visa expires. This is subject to the discretion of the authorities and requires valid reasons and supporting documentation.
