Tips for Angola travelers

  • Apply in advance: It is highly recommended to apply at least 6-8 weeks before your intended travel date to allow ample time for processing and potential delays.
  • Common rejection reasons: Incomplete documentation, insufficient financial proof, unclear purpose of visit, lack of ties to Angola (e.g., stable employment, property), and previous visa violations are common reasons for rejection. Ensure all documents are genuine and accurate.
  • VFS Global vs. direct embassy application: Applying through VFS Global is generally more convenient due to their established appointment system and streamlined process. Direct application at the Embassy might have longer waiting times for appointments.
  • Current travel advisories: Always check the official website of the Italian Embassy in Angola and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola for any specific travel advisories or updates concerning travel from Angola to Italy or the Schengen area.
  • Extension options inside Italy: Extensions of Schengen visas are only granted in exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness or force majeure. Standard tourist or business trips are not eligible for extension within the Schengen area. You must depart before your visa expires.
