Algerian citizens must obtain an e-visa for Uganda through the official immigration portal before travel; the standard tourist e-visa costs USD 50 and is usually processed within 3-5 business days.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay, with at least one blank page
  • Scanned copy of the passport bio-data page
  • Digital passport-style photo (white background)
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory for entry into Uganda)
  • Return or onward flight itinerary
  • Proof of accommodation in Uganda
  • Proof of sufficient funds for the stay
  • No in-person biometrics for the e-visa; fingerprints may be collected on arrival at the airport

Visa types

  • Single entry tourist e-visa: valid for up to 90 days, single entry, fee USD 50
  • East Africa Tourist Visa: valid for Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda combined, 90 days, fee USD 100
  • Business e-visa: valid up to 90 days, requires an invitation letter from a Ugandan company, fee USD 50
  • Multiple entry visa: available for frequent travelers, requires additional justification, fee USD 100

How to apply online

  • Apply at the official Uganda e-visa/e-permit portal (visas.immigration.go.ug)
  • Create an account, fill in the online application form, and upload the passport scan, photo, and yellow fever certificate
  • Pay the visa fee online by credit or debit card in USD
  • Track the application status through the portal; approval is sent by email as a PDF e-visa
  • Processing typically takes 3-5 business days, though it can extend to 10 days during peak season
  • Print the approved e-visa and present it with the passport on arrival

  • Single entry tourist e-visa fee: USD 50
  • East Africa Tourist Visa fee: USD 100
  • No separate service fee when applying directly through the official portal
  • Standard processing: 3-5 business days
  • No official express option; applying at least 2 weeks ahead is recommended

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply at least 2-3 weeks before travel to allow for processing delays during busy periods
  • Common rejection reasons include an expired yellow fever certificate, a blurry passport scan, or mismatched personal details
