Algerian citizens need a Thailand e-Visa applied for online via evisa.go.th; fee is THB 1,000 (about USD 28), processing 3-5 business days.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 6 months beyond the arrival date, with 1 blank page
  • Digital passport-style photo, white background, uploaded during the online application
  • Scanned copy of the passport bio page
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking) and a return or onward flight ticket
  • Bank statement showing at least THB 20,000 (about USD 550) per person, or equivalent
  • A valid email address to receive the approved e-Visa
  • No biometrics required for the e-Visa; only a photo and document upload

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid for a stay of up to 60 days, fee THB 1,000
  • Non-immigrant e-Visa (business, study, or other categories): single or multiple entry, validity and fee vary by purpose, generally THB 2,000 for multiple entry
  • Both are processed through the unified online e-Visa system for all nationalities requiring a visa

How to apply online

  • Create an account on the official portal at www.evisa.go.th
  • Fill in personal and travel details and upload the required scanned documents
  • Pay the fee online by credit/debit card (THB 1,000 for tourist e-Visa)
  • Standard processing takes 3-5 business days
  • The approved e-Visa is sent by email as a digital document; print or save it to present at check-in and on arrival in Thailand

  • Tourist e-Visa fee: THB 1,000 (approximately USD 28)
  • Non-immigrant e-Visa fee: THB 2,000 for multiple entry (approximately USD 56)
  • No separate VFS/BLS fee since applications go directly through the Thai e-Visa government portal
  • Standard processing: 3-5 business days
  • No official express option; applying at least a week ahead is recommended

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply at least 10-15 days before travel to allow for processing and any document resubmission
  • Common rejection reasons include a blurry photo, an unclear bank statement, or mismatched passport details
  • Only use the official evisa.go.th portal, since third-party sites often overcharge for the same service
  • Keep both digital and printed copies of the approved e-Visa for immigration checks
  • Extensions of stay (typically 30 more days) can be requested at any Thai Immigration Bureau office before the visa expires
