What you need

  • Passport valid for the duration of the intended stay, ideally with at least 6 months validity remaining
  • No visa or pre-approval is required for stays up to 30 days
  • Proof of onward or return travel may be requested by immigration officers
  • Proof of accommodation or a local contact address
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate if arriving from a country with risk of transmission
  • No biometrics are required in advance; standard passport control biometrics (photo, fingerprint) may be taken on arrival at Kigali International Airport as part of routine border procedure

Visa types

  • No visa category applies to Algerian tourists for stays of 30 days or less, since entry is granted visa-free on arrival
  • Longer stays or work purposes require a separate permit from the Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE), applied for after arrival or online at migration.gov.rw
  • Business visitors staying beyond 30 days should apply for a business visa or work permit in advance
