Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply in Advance: It is recommended to apply for your e-Visa at least 2 weeks before your departure date to avoid any last-minute issues.
  • Common Rejection Reasons: Incomplete or inaccurate application details, invalid passport (less than 6 months validity), incorrect photo format, insufficient funds, or previous visa violations for Myanmar can lead to rejection. Ensure all information matches your passport exactly.
  • VFS/BLS vs. Direct Embassy Application: Myanmar has transitioned to an e-Visa system for most nationalities. Direct applications to the embassy or through a third-party agency are generally not necessary or recommended for standard tourist or business visits. Stick to the official e-Visa portal.
  • Travel Advisories: Always check the latest travel advisories for Myanmar issued by your country's foreign ministry or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar (https://www.mofa.gov.mm/). Be aware of any political instability or health concerns.
  • Extension Options: Extensions for e-Visas are generally not possible. If you need to stay longer than permitted by your e-Visa, you will need to depart Myanmar and reapply for a new visa, or seek specific permission from the immigration authorities in Myanmar, which is typically complex and not guaranteed. It is best to plan your trip within the granted stay period.
