Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply Well in Advance: It is recommended to apply for your e-Visa at least 2-3 weeks before your planned travel date to allow for any unforeseen delays.
  • Common Rejection Reasons: Incomplete or inaccurate application details, insufficient supporting documents, unclear passport scans, or unclear financial proof can lead to rejections. Ensure all information matches your passport and supporting documents precisely.
  • e-Visa vs. Direct Embassy: The e-Visa portal is the most straightforward method for Algerian citizens applying for tourist or business visas. For other visa types, direct contact with the Malawi Embassy in countries like South Africa or Zimbabwe might be necessary.
  • Travel Advisories: Always check the latest travel advisories issued by your country's foreign ministry regarding travel to Malawi. Ensure you are up-to-date on any health recommendations (e.g., vaccinations).
  • Extension Options: Visa extensions within Malawi are generally possible, but they must be applied for at the Department of Immigration in Lilongwe before your current visa expires. It is advisable to have a strong reason for extension and necessary supporting documents.
