What you need

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay and have at least two blank pages.
  • Visa Application Form: Downloadable from the responsible embassy/consulate website or available at the application center. Fill it out completely and truthfully.
  • Photographs: Two recent passport-sized photographs (35x45mm) with a white background, neutral facial expression, and full face visible.
  • Financial Proof: Bank statements for the last 3-6 months showing sufficient funds to cover your stay (no specific minimum amount is publicly stated, but a reasonable amount to cover accommodation, food, and daily expenses is expected, e.g., €50-€100 per day).
  • Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed hotel reservations or a letter of invitation from a host in Kosovo, along with their identification documents.
  • Return Ticket: Confirmed round-trip flight or travel itinerary.
  • Travel Health Insurance: Mandatory. Must cover medical expenses and repatriation, with a minimum coverage of €30,000. Must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Kosovo.
  • Supporting Documents: Depending on the visa type (e.g., employment letter, proof of enrollment for students, business invitation for business trips).
  • Biometrics: Fingerprints and a photograph may be collected at the time of application submission. This is usually done at the VFS Global or BLS International application center.

  • Short-stay Visa (Type C):

  • Validity: Up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Max Stay: Up to 90 days.
  • Entry: Can be single or multiple entry.

  • Other Visa Types (Long-stay, Work, Study):

How to apply

  • Application Submission: Applications are typically submitted to the Embassy or Consulate of the country that represents Kosovo's consular interests in Algeria, or through authorized visa application centers like VFS Global or BLS International.

  • Application Form: Complete the visa application form accurately.
  • Fee Payment: Pay the visa fee and any applicable service fees at the time of application. Payment methods usually include cash, bank transfer, or card, depending on the submission center.

  • Standard Processing Time: Typically 15 calendar days. However, it can be extended up to 30 days in individual cases, and exceptionally up to 60 days if further verification is required.
  • Express/Priority Option: Not generally available for short-stay visas. Processing times are standard unless specific circumstances warrant expedited review.

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply in Advance: Start your visa application process at least 1-2 months before your planned travel date to account for potential delays.
  • Common Rejection Reasons: Incomplete applications, insufficient financial proof, lack of clear travel purpose, fake or insufficient supporting documents, and previous immigration violations are common reasons for rejection. Ensure all documents are genuine and clearly demonstrate your intent to return to Algeria.
