Algerian citizens can obtain a Jordanian visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport and other official entry points for a stay of up to 30 days; the standard tourist visa fee is JOD 40 (about USD 56), waived for travelers using the Jordan Pass.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
  • One passport-size photo (may be requested at some border crossings)
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation in Jordan
  • Travel insurance is recommended, not mandatory
  • No biometrics required at visa on arrival; fingerprinting is not standard for tourist entries

Visa types

  • Single-entry tourist visa on arrival: valid for a stay of up to 30 days, extendable, fee JOD 40
  • Multiple-entry visa: available for JOD 60, valid for repeated entries within a set period
  • Jordan Pass: a combined visa waiver and attraction pass for tourists staying at least 3 nights, purchased online in advance, which waives the JOD 40 visa fee entirely

Visa on arrival

  • Available at Queen Alia International Airport (Amman), Aqaba King Hussein International Airport, and most land/sea border crossings except the King Hussein Bridge from the West Bank
  • Proceed to the visa counter before immigration on arrival
  • Present passport and pay the fee in Jordanian Dinar (cash preferred; some airport counters accept cards)
  • Travelers who purchased a Jordan Pass online before arrival present their pass reference instead of paying the fee
  • Visa is stamped into the passport within a few minutes at the counter

Fees & processing time

  • Visa on arrival fee: JOD 40 (about USD 56) for single entry, JOD 60 for multiple entry
  • Jordan Pass (bought online in advance): starts around JOD 70 (about USD 99), which includes the visa fee waiver plus entry to Petra and other sites - can be cost-effective for stays of 3+ nights
  • No separate VFS/BLS fee - visa on arrival is issued directly by Jordanian immigration
  • Total cost estimate: USD 56-99 depending on whether a Jordan Pass is used
  • Processing time: a few minutes at the airport counter
  • No express option needed; the standard process is already fast

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Buy the Jordan Pass online at least a few days before travel if planning to stay 3 or more nights - it both waives the visa fee and covers major attraction entries
  • Carry Jordanian Dinar cash for the visa fee in case card payment is unavailable at smaller border crossings
  • The visa on arrival is not available at the King Hussein Bridge crossing from the West Bank - a visa must be arranged in advance for that route
  • Extensions can be obtained at any police station or the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs in Amman before the visa expires
  • Common issue: travelers without a return ticket or hotel booking may face extra questioning at immigration
