Israel Visa for Algeria Citizens 2026

Algeria and Israel do not have diplomatic relations and Algerian passports explicitly bar travel to Israel, so in practice Algerian citizens cannot use Israel's e-visa/ETA system; travel is effectively only possible for dual nationals using a second passport.

What you need

  • A valid passport from a country that has diplomatic relations with Israel - an Algerian passport alone will not be accepted for entry
  • If traveling on a second nationality's passport, the standard Israeli entry requirements apply: passport valid 6 months beyond stay, confirmed onward travel, and proof of funds
  • Israel issues a paper entry card rather than a passport stamp at most crossings
  • Travel insurance is recommended though not mandatory
  • No Israeli visa can currently be issued against an Algerian passport due to the absence of bilateral relations

Visa types

  • Tourist visa/ETA (B/2): normally granted for up to 90 days on eligible passports, fee-free for many nationalities under the electronic travel authorization scheme, but not available to Algerian passport holders
  • Business visa (B/1): requires an invitation from an Israeli company, also not accessible to Algerian passport holders
  • These categories exist for reference only - none can currently be obtained on an Algerian passport

How to apply online

  • The Israeli Population and Immigration Authority portal (gov.il) processes ETA/visa applications, but nationality checks block Algerian passport numbers at the outset
  • There is no workaround through the official portal for Algerian citizens
  • Dual nationals should apply using their other passport, following that country's normal Israel entry requirements
  • Israel does not maintain an embassy in Algeria, so this route only applies when traveling on a different nationality

Fees & processing time

  • Not applicable for an Algerian passport, since no visa can be issued against it
  • For eligible other-nationality passports, the standard ETA is typically low-cost (under USD 25) and approved within 24-72 hours
  • No VFS/BLS processing exists for this route on an Algerian passport

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Algerian law and passport annotations prohibit travel to Israel; attempting to do so can carry legal consequences under Algerian regulations
  • There is no functioning visa or e-visa pathway for a passport issued by Algeria
  • Travelers holding a second passport from a country with relations to Israel should apply entirely under that nationality and keep the two travel histories separate, since an Israeli entry record can cause problems when later presenting an Algerian passport to certain countries
