Iraq Visa for Algeria Citizens 2026

Algerian citizens must obtain an Iraq e-visa online via evisa.gov.iq before travel; the tourist e-visa costs about USD 75 and is typically approved within 3-5 working days.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay
  • Digital passport-style photo, JPEG, white background, uploaded during the online application
  • Scanned copy of the passport bio page
  • Confirmed hotel booking or address of stay in Iraq
  • Return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement) may be requested
  • No biometrics required for the e-visa itself; fingerprints and photo are captured on arrival at Iraqi ports of entry

Visa types

  • Tourist e-visa: single entry, valid 60 days from issue, allows a stay of up to 30 days, fee around USD 75
  • Business e-visa: single or multiple entry, requires an invitation letter from an Iraqi company, fee around USD 75-150 depending on entry type
  • Iraqi Kurdistan Region (entry via Erbil or Sulaymaniyah) issues a separate visa on arrival for many nationalities, but Algerians should use the federal e-visa for Baghdad and southern Iraq entry points

How to apply online

  • Create an account and complete the application at evisa.gov.iq
  • Upload the passport bio page scan and a passport photo
  • Select visa type (tourist or business) and entry point
  • Pay the fee online by credit/debit card
  • Approval is sent by email as a PDF; print it and carry it along with your passport
  • Present the printed e-visa approval at the port of entry; biometrics (photo and fingerprints) are taken by immigration on arrival

  • Tourist e-visa fee: approximately USD 75, paid online by card
  • Business e-visa fee: approximately USD 75-150 depending on single/multiple entry
  • No separate VFS/BLS fee - the application is direct through the government portal
  • Total cost estimate: USD 75-80 including minor card processing charges
  • Standard processing time: 3-5 working days
  • Express processing is not officially offered; applying well in advance is recommended

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply at least 1-2 weeks before travel to allow for processing delays
  • Double-check the spelling of your name and passport number before submitting, since mismatches are a common rejection reason
  • Carry a printed copy of the e-visa approval - some airlines require it before boarding
