What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond arrival date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed Ghana visa application form (available online or on arrival)
  • Two passport-size photos, 2x2 inches, white background
  • Proof of onward/return ticket
  • Proof of accommodation in Ghana (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate (mandatory - Ghana requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all arriving travelers)
  • Sufficient funds to cover your stay
  • No biometrics required for the visa-on-arrival process beyond a photograph at immigration

Visa types

  • Tourist visa on arrival - single entry, up to 60 days, fee approx. USD 150
  • Business visa on arrival - single entry, up to 60 days, requires an invitation letter from a Ghanaian company, fee approx. USD 150
  • Multiple-entry visa - available through Ghana's e-visa portal or embassy in advance, valid up to 1 year, fee approx. USD 200

Visa on arrival

  • Available at Kotoka International Airport, Accra (main port for on-arrival processing)
  • On arrival, proceed to the visa desk before immigration control
  • Present passport, photos, yellow fever certificate, and proof of accommodation/return ticket
  • Pay the fee in USD cash (GHS also generally accepted at the official exchange rate)

  • Arrive early or on a flight that isn't heavily loaded with other visa-on-arrival travelers to reduce wait times
