Algerian citizens require a visa to enter Cameroon and must apply for an eVisa online via the official portal, PRC.cm, with fees starting from approximately 50,000 XAF.

What you need

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended stay and have at least two blank pages.
  • eVisa Application Form: Completed online through the official portal.
  • Digital Photograph: Recent passport-style photo, measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm, with a white background, taken directly facing the camera, with neutral facial expression and eyes open. No hats or head coverings unless for religious or medical reasons.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from a host in Cameroon, including their full contact details and copy of their national ID or residence permit.
  • Proof of Return Ticket: A confirmed flight reservation showing your departure from Cameroon.
  • Financial Means: Bank statements or pay slips demonstrating sufficient funds to cover your stay. While a specific amount is not mandated, a reasonable daily allowance is expected (e.g., approximately 30,000 XAF per day).
  • Travel Health Insurance: Recommended, covering medical emergencies and repatriation. Not strictly mandatory for eVisa, but highly advisable.
  • Biometrics: Not required for the eVisa application process. Biometrics are typically collected upon arrival at designated ports of entry or during a sticker visa application.
  • Supporting Documents (depending on visa type): e.g., invitation letter for business, admission letter for students, employment contract for work visas.

  • Maximum Stay: 30 days (extendable).

  • Approximate Fee: 100,000 XAF (USD 170).
  • Requires an official invitation letter from a Cameroonian company or organization.
  • Short-Stay Visa (Other purposes like visiting family, transit):
  • Official Name: Visa de Court Séjour
  • Validity: Typically 3 months from date of issue.
  • Maximum Stay: 15-30 days.
  • Entry: Single entry.
  • Approximate Fee: 50,000 XAF (USD 85).
  • Note: For longer stays or specific purposes like work or study, a sticker visa obtained through the embassy or consulate in Algeria may be required. Information on these types can be obtained directly from the Embassy of Cameroon in Algeria.

How to apply online

  • Visit the official eVisa portal for Cameroon: https://www.prc.cm/
  • Click on the 'Visa Application' or 'Apply for eVisa' link.
  • Create an account or log in if you already have one.
  • Select the correct visa type (Tourist, Business, etc.).
  • Fill out the online application form accurately and completely. Double-check all details, especially passport information.
  • Upload all required supporting documents in the specified formats (usually PDF or JPEG).
  • Upload your digital photograph adhering to the specified dimensions and background requirements.
  • Pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card. The fee is displayed in local currency (XAF) and an approximate USD equivalent is usually provided.
  • Submit your application.
  • Upon successful submission and processing, you will receive an eVisa approval letter via email. Print this letter and present it along with your passport upon arrival in Cameroon.
  • Processing Time: Standard processing is typically 5-7 working days. Express options may be available for an additional fee.

  • eVisa Fee (Business): Approximately 100,000 XAF (USD 170).

  • There are no additional VFS/BLS service fees for the eVisa application as it is processed directly online.
  • Standard Processing Time: 5-7 working days.
  • Express Processing: May be available for an additional fee, typically processed within 2-3 working days. This option and its cost will be visible on the portal.
