Algerian citizens can get a Cambodian visa on arrival at major airports and border crossings, or apply for an e-visa online in advance; fee USD 30 for a tourist visa, same-day on arrival or about 3 business days for the e-visa.

What you need

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry
  • One recent passport-size photo (4x6cm, white background)
  • Completed arrival visa form or the e-visa online application
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Proof of accommodation in Cambodia
  • Cash in USD for the visa-on-arrival fee (if not using the e-visa)
  • Biometrics: photo and fingerprints taken at the immigration counter on arrival

Visa types

  • Tourist visa (T-class): single entry, valid for a stay of 30 days, fee USD 30
  • Ordinary/business visa (E-class): single entry initially, extendable and convertible to a work permit, fee USD 35
  • E-visa: issued online, functionally equivalent to the tourist visa-on-arrival, fee USD 36 including service charge

  • Available at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports and major land border crossings
  • Submit the arrival form, one photo, and passport at the visa counter
  • Pay the USD 30 fee in cash (small additional fees may apply outside standard hours)
  • Processing typically takes 10-20 minutes at the airport counter
  • Alternatively, apply for the e-visa online at evisa.gov.kh before travel to skip the on-arrival queue

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • The e-visa is the more predictable option since it avoids on-arrival queues, especially during peak season
  • Common issues: expired passport validity, no photo for the arrival form, insufficient cash in USD
  • Only apply through the official evisa.gov.kh site — several look-alike sites overcharge for the same service
  • Keep small USD bills on hand since change is not always available at the border
  • Visa extensions (30 days for tourist, longer for ordinary visas) are available at the Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh
