Guide last updated September 10, 2026. Always verify with official sources before travel.

What you need

  • Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the stay, with a blank page
  • Passport-style photo (35x45mm, white background, taken within 6 months)
  • Completed online e-Visa application
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)
  • Return or onward ticket
  • Proof of funds, roughly EUR 50 per day of stay
  • Travel health insurance covering at least EUR 30,000 is recommended, not mandatory
  • No biometrics required for the e-Visa itself

Visa types

  • Tourist e-Visa: single entry, valid 90 days from issue, stay up to 30 days, about EUR 50
  • Business e-Visa: single or multiple entry, similar validity, about EUR 60
  • Transit e-Visa: single entry, stay up to 5 days, about EUR 30
  • Longer stays or multiple-entry national visas require an in-person application at an Albanian embassy

How to apply online

  • Apply through Albania's official e-Visa portal
  • Create an account and complete the application form
  • Upload a scan of the passport bio page and a digital photo
  • Attach accommodation proof and flight itinerary
  • Pay the fee online by card (EUR, roughly USD 55 equivalent)
  • Approval arrives by email as a PDF, usually within 10-15 business days — print it and carry it with your passport, no physical stamp is applied beforehand

Fees & processing time

  • Tourist e-Visa: EUR 50 (about USD 55)
  • Business e-Visa: EUR 60 (about USD 65)
  • No separate service fee since the portal is government-run
  • Standard processing: 10-15 business days
  • Expedited processing (3-5 business days) available for an extra EUR 20

Tips for Algeria travelers

  • Apply at least 3 weeks before travel to allow for delays
  • Common rejection reasons: blurry passport scans, bank statements older than 3 months, no proof of return travel
  • Albania has no visa-accepting mission in Algiers, so the e-Visa is the only practical route
  • Extensions are not available on the e-Visa — you must exit and reapply for a longer stay
