What you need

  • Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Mongolia. It should have at least one blank page.
  • Completed Application Form: Not applicable for e-visa; completed online.

  • Other visa types (Student, Work, etc.) are generally not available through the e-visa portal and require application at a Mongolian embassy or consulate abroad. These will have different durations and requirements.

How to apply online

  • Visit the official e-visa portal for Mongolia: https://evisa.mn/
  • Register an account on the portal.
  • Select the appropriate visa type (e.g., Tourist, Business).
  • Fill out the online application form accurately with your personal details, passport information, travel plans, and contact information.
  • Upload required documents, including a digital photograph and a scanned copy of your passport's biodata page.
  • Pay the visa fee online using a credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard).
  • Submit the application.
  • Processing time is usually 2-3 working days, but can take longer during peak periods.
  • If approved, you will receive an e-visa approval letter via email. Print this letter and carry it with you. You will present this along with your passport upon arrival in Mongolia.
