Afghan citizens can apply for an eVisa (Tourist, Business, Transit, or Student) to Zimbabwe via https://www.evisa.gov.zw/; typical processing is 2–5 working days with fees starting from USD 25 for Transit, USD 50 for Tourist, USD 70 for Business, and USD 150 for Student.

What you need

  • Passport validity: passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry; must have at least 2 blank pages for stamping.
  • Forms: there are no separate Zimbabwe visa forms for e-visa; apply online at https://www.evisa.gov.zw/.
  • Financial proof: show access to funds equivalent to at least USD 100 per day of stay or its equivalent in your preferred currency.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: provide proof of accommodation for the entire stay (hotel bookings or invitation letter) and a return/onward flight ticket.
  • Photo spec: upload a recent passport photo (35x45 mm, color, white background) in JPEG/PNG format; file size up to 2 MB.
  • Biometrics: biometrics are not collected as part of the online e-visa application; no in-person biometrics submission for the e-visa.
  • Travel health insurance: not strictly required but strongly recommended.

  • Student e-visa: Official name Student e-visa; Validity 12 months; Max stay up to 12 months per course; Entry: Multiple (subject to course requirements); Approx fee USD 150.
  • Work e-visa: Not available via the e-visa portal; a Zimbabwe work permit and embassy visa route is typically required.

How to apply online

  • Steps: complete the online form with personal details, passport data, travel purpose, and stay dates; upload required documents (digital passport photo and scanned passport bio page); attach supporting documents as applicable (hotel bookings, invitation letter, admission letters for students).
  • Fees: the portal shows fees in USD; local currency equivalent may be displayed at payment; pay by credit/debit card.
  • Processing time: typical processing is 2–5 working days; some applications may take longer depending on verification.
  • How approval arrives: you will receive an email confirmation and can also download the approved eVisa from your eVisa account; print the eVisa and carry it for entry.

Tips for Afghanistan travelers

  • Apply well in advance: start the application at least 7–14 days before travel to account for verification and potential delays.
  • Common rejection reasons: mismatched passport data, insufficient funds documentation, incomplete or unclear travel plans, inconsistent information between online form and uploaded documents.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct embassy: Zimbabwe eVisa is issued online via the official portal; there is no separate VFS/BLS process for e-visa; beware of third-party sites claiming to expedite visa; use the official portal only.
