What you need

  • Specific forms: For an e-Visa, complete the online application at https://www.evisa.gov.tr/ and print the approved e-Visa; for a sticker visa, complete the Turkish visa application form required by the embassy/consulate attempting your visa.
  • Financial proof: Evidence of funds to cover your stay (bank statements, pay slips, or credit availability). There is no official published minimum amount; as a general guideline, show funds to cover daily expenses and accommodation for your intended duration.
  • Accommodation and return ticket: Hotel bookings or invitation letter with host details, plus a return or onward flight reservation showing travel dates.
  • Photo spec: One recent passport-style photograph (approximately 35x45 mm) with a plain light background, in color, and no facial coverings unless required by health rules.
  • Biometrics: Biometric data submission may be required at the consulate or visa application center; follow the embassy’s appointment instructions.
  • Travel health insurance: Not mandatory for entry, but strongly recommended; ensure coverage for medical costs during Turkey stay.

  • Business Visa (Ticari Vize): Official name—Business Visa; Validity up to 1 year (varies by case); max stay per entry up to 90 days; single or multiple entry; approximate fee around USD 60–110.
  • Student Visa (Öğrenci Vizesi): Official name—Student Visa; Validity aligned with the duration of the study program; can be multiple entries; max stay for each entry typically up to the program length; approximate fee around USD 110.
  • Work Visa (Çalışma Vizesi): Official name—Work Visa; Validity tied to work permit (often up to 1 year or as approved); usually multiple entry; max stay per entry up to 90 days or as permit allows; approximate fee around USD 150.
  • Family Visit/Short-Term Visit Visa (Aile Ziyareti / Kısa Süreli Ziyaret Vizesi): Official name—Family Visit Visa; Validity up to 90 days per entry; multiple entries sometimes issued; approximate fee around USD 60–100.

How to apply

  • e-Visa/How to apply online: Go to https://www.evisa.gov.tr/; select Afghanistan as your nationality or as instructed; complete the online application with your personal details, travel plan, and passport data; pay the visa fee by credit/debit card; if approved, download and print the e-Visa to carry to Turkey; processing is usually minutes to 24 hours.
  • Visa on arrival: Visa on arrival is generally not available for Afghan nationals at Turkish entry points; rely on e-Visa or embassy process.
