Tips for Afghanistan travelers

  • Plan well in advance: Apply at least 2–3 weeks before travel.
  • Common rejection reasons for Afghan applicants: Incomplete documents, insufficient funds or questionable financial proof, lack of clear travel itinerary or hotel bookings, and inconsistencies in personal data.
  • VFS/BLS vs direct embassy: Suriname e-visa is issued through the vfsglobal portal; ensure you use the official vfsglobal Suriname site to avoid scams. Embassy walk-ins for e-visas are not available.
  • Travel advisories/bilateral notes: Check latest travel advisories from your government and Suriname; ensure you meet current visa and health requirements due to evolving rules.
  • Extensions inside Suriname: Extensions are possible in Suriname by applying with the Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) before your current visa expires; approval is not guaranteed and depends on purpose and staying capacity.
